01 / Bloomrite

One saturation plugin. Five characters.

Bloomrite is a saturation plugin for macOS and Windows, in VST3 and AU formats. It puts five styles (Console, Tube, Wavefolder, Tape and Fracture) together in one window, with dynamics, tone shaping and presets.

Recorded from the plugin. Unleash switches on at 2 seconds.

02 / What it does

Five styles, and the controls to shape them.

Five styles

Switch between Console, Tube, Wavefolder, Tape and Fracture.

Console Clean until it gets close to its ceiling, then a short, soft edge with mostly odd harmonics and transformer saturation that thickens the lows first. It adds density to drums, bass and the mix bus without sounding obviously distorted.

Tube Modelled on vacuum tube stages, with mostly even harmonics for a warm, thick sound that gets hot quickly in the upper half of Bloom. For vocals, bass, keys and mix-bus warmth.

Wavefolder Folds the waveform back on itself for bright, metallic overtones that sound nothing like ordinary clipping. For synths, plucks, sound design and added upper harmonics on bass.

Tape A mellow, vintage tape sound that softens the highs and gently compresses as you drive it. For drum rooms, acoustic instruments, vocals and the mix bus.

Fracture Breaks the sound into small grains with random repeats and reversals, then clips them, so no two passes are ever the same. For sound design, tails and special effects.

The Dynamics section: Threshold, Range and Speed knobs, and Swell, Bite and Static mode buttons.
02

Dynamics

Bloomrite's saturation can follow the music. In Swell it grows as the sound falls below the Threshold, so attacks stay clean while tails and decays thicken. In Bite it hits the attacks above the Threshold and lets the tails ring clean, and in Static it stays constant like a classic saturator.

Range sets the most extra drive the dynamics can add (1 to 36 dB), and Speed sets how quickly the saturation follows (1 ms to 3 s).

The Tone section: the Bloom control, Sat Trim, Auto Gain, and Lo-cut and Hi-cut knobs.
03

Tone

Bloom is the main drive control, up to +24 dB, with each style responding in its own way; the rose opens as you turn it up.

Auto Gain keeps the processed sound at about the level of the input, so turning Bloom up changes the character, not just the loudness.

Also here: Sat Trim, Lo-cut and Hi-cut.

The preset menu: categories Drums, Bass, Instruments, Vocals, Mix Bus, Tails and Sound Design, with the Drums presets open.

Unleash
Adds 16 dB of fixed drive on top of the signal, for clearly destructive sounds, while Swell and Bite keep working.
Delta
Plays only the difference between the processed and the dry sound, so you hear exactly what Bloomrite adds and removes.
2× · 4× · 8×
How much the saturation is oversampled to keep added high frequencies from folding back as harsh tones. Standard (4× at 48 kHz) suits almost everything, 8× is cleanest on very bright, hot material, and 2× saves CPU. The buttons show the real factor for the session's sample rate, for example 1× / 2× / 4× at 96 kHz.

Hear it in your own sessions.

What I ask of testers

Dispersia Audio is a one-person studio, so every report is read.

  1. Use Bloomrite in your own sessions.
  2. Tell me what works, what breaks, and what you would change.
  3. Send bugs whenever you find them, and your general feedback by 30 November 2026.

After you sign up

After you sign up, you'll get an email with the download links for macOS and Windows and a short guide.

When something goes wrong, tell me your DAW and its version, your system, what you did just before it happened, and a screenshot or short recording if you can.

Bugs can be sent to hello@dispersiaaudio.com at any time; general feedback by 30 November through the feedback form you'll receive by email.

System requirements

  • macOS: macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later. Audio Unit (AU) and VST3, in one universal installer built for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
  • Windows: Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, VST3. The plugin window needs Microsoft Edge WebView2, which is built into Windows 11 and current Windows 10; the installer checks for it.
  • Tested in: Reaper on macOS (VST3) and Windows 11 (VST3), and Logic Pro (AU).
  • Also checked: on macOS, the VST3 and AU pass pluginval at its strictest level and Apple's auval Audio Unit check; on Windows, the VST3 passes pluginval.
  • Latency: about 6.4 ms at 48 kHz, reported to the host and compensated automatically.
  • Beta: version 0.9.0 runs until 15 December 2026.

05 / About

Dispersia Audio

Dispersia Audio is an independent one-person studio in Sofia, Bulgaria. Bloomrite is the first plugin.

I'm Danail Vidinsky, a composer and audio engineer from Sofia. Bloomrite began as an idea for my master's project in audio engineering: one saturation tool that reacts to the strength of the signal. I designed it, shaped every style by ear and tested it in my own sessions, and every report from the beta comes straight to me.
